Location

Sessions are available in my home-based studio or at an outdoor location of our choosing. (Outdoor sessions are available weather-permitting from April through October.) I can recommend several outdoor locations or you can pick your favorite. If weather threatens to cancel our session, we can either reschedule or photograph indoors.

What to wear:

Keep it simple! I much prefer the real life look, casual and carefree. Denims, solid color tops, and bare toes. Avoid busy patterns, numbers or lettering.

I keep some clothing accessories in the studio -- diaper covers, dreamy tutus, fairy wings, vintage hats, ties, scarves, rain boots and umbrellas etc.

I encourage you to bring several outfit choices to your session and together we can choose what will work best. You are welcome to do outfit changes during the session.

What to expect:

Informal and spontaneous! I approach each session with an open heart, letting your child set the course of our adventure together. Some kids are shy -- maybe we will play for awhile before we start taking pictures. Others are ready to jump right in and lead the way. I won't ask your child to pose for me or say cheese -- and I request that you don't either!

My style is to observe and interact with each child in a way that elicits genuine emotions and expressions. I promise that I will take some pictures of your child NOT smiling!

How soon should a newborn be photographed?

As soon as mom is feeling ready! Preferably under the age of 14 days since during this initial two week period, babies mostly sleep and are quite pliable. This small window of time yields the best opportunity for precious newborn poses, both while sleeping and awake.
